Dynamic Report And Query System Based On Data Warehouse

Along with the development of database technology, data warehouse and commercial intelligence based on it will be undoubtedly developing direction, and dynamic report is exactly an important application in practice of the concept of data warehouse. The data in data warehouse come from a lot of different transaction processing systems, and report based on data warehouse integrates the whole enterprise's information, so the report should be driven by user's needs, and the content and format of the report should be determined by users.This subject based on an actual project, constructs a multi-layer application system mode (including interface layer , logic layer , data model layer and database layer) by using Visual Studio.Net and SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services technology. It means to set up a user-driven dynamic report tool based on data warehouse which user can define content and format of the report. This report tool use XML to describe report data and format, use the application server as the centre, and make use of software component to put up dynamic report application based on Web, and produce XML or HTML report . The main research contents are as following:The part of the report data, which is to execute multidimensional analysis according to user's self-defining multidimensional inquiry sentence (MDX sentence) , and then describe the inquiry result in this multidimensional data by way of a XML file based on a report data model,so the content of this report is produced.The main function of Report Format part is to realize the report format files ( XSL files) based on a report format model according to report format user self- defining. Finally a dynamic WEB report is produced by combining a report data file(a XML file)and a report format file(XSL file).
