The Research And Design Of Web-based Parametric Cross-platform Parts Library System

With the development of CAD technology, the CAD is becoming increasingly popular in enterprises. As an important component of CAD system, the parts library is an effective means to improve design efficiency and quality, and is an indispensable tool in the product development course. There are wide demands for the parts library in the manufacturing industry.Networked manufacturing becomes an important trend in the manufacturing industry with the development and wide application of computer network. Meanwhile the networked sharing of manufacturing resources tends to be the focus studied.In this paper, a web-based parts library system is designed and implemented according to the requirements of enterprises. This system adopts the parametric method to set up the parts library and can support many kinds of mainstream 3D CAD software. Users can utilize and manage the system through Web.Three parts are included in this paper shown as following:Firstly, problems in the use of CAD parts library by enterprises are analysed and the scheme is proposed accordingly. Then based on the B/S model, the network framework of the system is established and the function modules are divided. Meanwhile, the cross-platform scheme is suggested.Secondly, the establishment of parts library is studied. The procedure mainly consists of the establishment of data source and the development of parameter driven module. Varieties of data in the parts library and their creation course are introduced in detail. Meanwhile, the parameter driven module is developed using the secondary development method for CAD software.Thirdly, the design and establishment of the management system are introduced. It serves to help users utilize the parts library and is the mutual interface between users and the system. Also, every module of the management system and the method to use the whole system are introduced.Finally, the conclusion is made and the further work is determined.
