The first and primary consideration is to select and use standard parts when the people of products design engaging in developing and designing nowadays. Analysis showed that the number of standard parts is accounted for 60%, 30% of the parts and components are common parts which are obtained through Variable design, and the parts and components are only accounted for 10% in accordance with the development of the special needs of customers. In the design process standard parts needs frequently refer all kinds of design manual. According to statistics, the selection and drawing of standard parts took 70% of all the design time. Therefore, in product design, the design of standard parts is a laborious and time-consuming work besides a lot of repetitive work, which is obviously incompatible the increasingly fierce market competition.In order to find the demand parts designers often consult references from the standard manuals and samples supplied by component suppliers in the process of mechanical design; and then they draw parts on the map by using CAD tools which will cost designers a lot of energy and a large number of repetitive work because of the large-scale use of the parts. In order to reduce the repetitive labor,improve and make full use of the efficiency of CAD,there is an urgent need to establish standard parts library. After establishing the standard parts library, we put it on a network platform and allow corporate users or individual users to download and share the resources of standard parts library through certain pattern. ASP (Application Service Provider) is a service model which can meet the purpose of sharing resources. The main idea of ASP is based on the transmission tools of network and provider users with a wide range of applications and services.The thesis draw on the thinking of ASP services and put the make-welled standard parts library on the network platform to enable the broad masses of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises users and individual users to download and use.The main works of the thesis are as follows:(1) The software and hardware architecture of three-dimensional standard parts library system in the framework of ASP.ASP framework of the system must be able to solve the four problems such as access,management,performance and security issues of standard parts library in the distributed environment. In order to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the system, we must conduct a study of its architecture;(2) The variable principles of standard model .Variable model of standard parts are not only the base of realizing the design of variables, but also the online-driven guarantee of three-dimensional standard variables. Researching the principles and methods of variable model will contribute to the variable driven function of standard parts library which provide service for the secondary development of Solid Edge software;(3) The research of secondary development technology of Solid Edge software. Based on the study of the object hierarchy of Solid Edge, firstly quote type library of Solid Edge in VB, and then use VB to achieve the calling target of the Solid Edge template library;(4) The realization of mechanical standard parts library in ASP platform. Firstly design the architecture and functional framework of ASP service platform. Finally produce site. Make sure standard parts library work in ASP platform and make users share resources of standard parts library.
