In the paper, it analysis and research the machine design and the computer-aided designCAD. The project management plan of object-oriented technology is applied to the system,the basic idea of parametric design is combined and the modular design idea is used, CADparametric drawing system based on web is developed in order to generate and display DWGgraphics files online. This system is constituted of database of dimension, parametric drawingprogram and interface. The database is used to store serial dimensions of2D drawing. Thedata relating to the dimension parameter is searched from the database, and the coordinates ofrelating points for drawing of mechanical parts are calculated automatically, after which thedrawing program is launched. The interface for user is used to achieve the dimension data tomodify or entry.In the paper, it analysis the development of domestic and foreign CAD system by thestatus, and researches the parameters of the basic methods of drawing; demand analysis forsystem is made, the overall framework for the system is built; the procedure of setting upSQL2000database and the design method of tables; stored procedures, etc are discussed; themethods for DWG files generation are discussed and the interface program for browsingDWG files is developed; sub-module interface, flowcharts, etc is analyzed systematic.Compared with the traditional design, this design will help the designer to draw toolcomponents, standard parts and common parts fast and convenient. It will enhance the designefficiency greatly and have a bright application prospect.
