At the age of knowledge economy and drastic competition, responding to the market rapidly is the main factor to the victory of a corporation. The parts library works as an important component of the CAD system and is an effective way to improve the efficiency and quality of the design. Therefore, merging the knowledge and experience into the CAD system to realize the agent design is the preferential schema to respond rapidly for the corporation. Using the Web parts libraries, designers can design parts fast and efficient under an interactive, online environment, making CAD technology more infomationization, intelligence and agileness.In this paper, the parts library system is based on the ASP framework . With the B / S mode, the system provides the designers both inside and outside the enterprises with the function of the library components model online searching, browsing, downloading and management.This paper combines series of technology such as CAD, databases, computer networks, and carries out an active exploration on the development and application of parts library based on Web:In the integration system structure, the ASP platform service model is studied, in the detail, an open database structure for both standard parts library and supplier parts library is designed; In the information integration, the parameterized modeling technology is studied and an open database model for system is established.In the development of applications, system development technologies include Web applications based on. NET, calling of CAD platform based on OLE Automation technology, the further-development of SolidWorks using VB language, database connection with ADO and Cross-platform solutions. Firstly, the concept and function of three-dimensional parameterized parts library system, and the Status of research and application at home and abroad are introduced. For changing medium-sized corporations'situation of poor informationization and computer resource deficiency. Then the working model of parts library system based on ASP service model is discussed. As part of theoretical research of this paper, the basic theory of parameterized and feature-based modeling technology are researched, and a parameterized parts information model based on the research is given out, offering a simple and standardized way of parts storage.Secondly, during the constructive proceeding, the plan of system development is established and the whole structure is designed based on the B/S network model. The function model of the system and the cross-plantforms solution is given out. Then study on classification of parts, give out parts library's organizational structure, and establish an open database structure, optimize the storage of information. Secondary development of SolidWorks and database access technology is studied and graphics driven program which works as the post-processing module of parts library is developed using VB language, which can produce new CAD model by customs'needs from parametric parts information in the library, all of these prove the possibility of driving CAD soft to accomplish new tasks online.In the end, the website serving parts library platform is developed under frameworks of .NET by C#, The principle of the key features and technologies are described by the instance of building press parts library, and the reliability and effectiveness of system are verified.
