The Modernization Of Library And Information Organization And Its Orientation In Modern Information Service Industry

With the springing up of the information industry, especially after the rapidly developing of network in 1990's, the libraries and information organizations, which havebeen the mainstay of information service, have been greatly impacted------resourceconstruction in danger, funds in lack and service space shrinking. Therefore, people turn to other information organizations to seek information consummation. Thus, how to transform to the modern information service industry successfully and get a place is critical to the libraries and information organizations.In the modernizing process, information technology, market-oriented economy and information service industry are the three essential elements in the reforming. Information service is the core and information service modernization is the clue. As to that, this paper employs the methods of literature search, compare analysis and modeling analysis, concluding the domestic and foreign study and combining our domestic situations, to probe the choices of the libraries and information organizations' modernization with the orientation of the information service.There are four parts in this dissertation. The first one expatiates the research background, basic ideas, contents, purpose and significance. The second one analyses the definition, feature and systematic structure and points out that the core competition lies in the increment of information. And the third one discusses the information service modernization of the libraries and information organizations, explaining that the organizations should choose the socialized, marketed and industrialized information service. The last one probes how to orient modern information service stressing the importance of information increment, the new gain of knowledge service to construct the model of digital library based on knowledge service.
