Study On The Construction Of Information Service System For Foreign Students In University Libraries

With the development of economic and social development in China, the rapid increase of foreign students, to provide high quality information service has become an important task. The study and education of overseas students is in urgent need of the library to provide the knowledge and information. Investigation shows that overseas students have a strong demand for information. They not only faced with the language barrier, but because of their low level of information literacy and ability to use is very limited when they use the library information services. And they make the service level at a low level for a long time. How to keep pace with times, pay attention to the service, explore the service method of special objects, provide high efficiency and high quality information service have become a new challenge for university library.This paper takes the information service of overseas students as the research object, firstly makes a survey and analysis of the present situation of information service in colleges by selecting the foreign nine representative students information service case of Harvard University library, NanYang Polytechnic library, Tsinghua University library and other domestic library. At the same time, it makes a comparative analysis of the advantages and the focus of the study on the information service system, which is a reference for the construction of international students.Secondly, a questionnaire survey was carried out on the information behavior and information needs by the online grading optional questionnaire investigation method to investigate the 20 universities in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province in students needs of studying information service expectations. To understand the behavior of the user information acquisition, including the services use, information education, and to understand the needs of students, to provide a realistic basis for the construction of information service system which has a complete resource, information sharing and information service ability..Finally, the construction of the university library information service system is explained from four aspects: the service thought and principle, the work content, the overall framework and the case construction. From the establishment of specialized information service personnel, to strengthen the students into the library and proposed to improve and enhance the information service of foreign students in China. And constructing the information service system of the students in Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics is built include the virtual space and physical space according to the information service needs of students in colleges.
