Mine safety is essential, in order to ensure safety and prevent mine disasters, it's need to monitor the data of the mine. In traditional monitoring system, due to the diversity of underground variety of data acquisition and the presence of various forms of signal interference, even though it can effectively control access to data nodes, but the special nature of underground production influences the effective transfer of data. Based on the analysis of the environment and the underground data communication needs, this thesis designs mine safety monitoring system based on ZigBee technology, and breaks down the monitoring system into monitoring host, reference nodes, positioning nodes and terminals. In addition, this thesis gives the design process.This monitoring system is designed not only to provide data collection and transmission, control node can also adjust along with the service condition of the underground mining tunnel, while the monitoring system also position the physical address of the moving nodes. Network based on ZigBee technology, has many advantages, such as low cost, low power, large capacity, simple structure, and easier to maintain, so that monitoring systems can be widely used.Part of the designed system functions have been actually tested underground, there are also some features still in the theoretical study and simulation stage, which still needs further refinement and improvement.
