The intelligent transportation holds the very important status in the urban road transportation system.Aiming at urban traffic characteristic,the urban transportation plan,control,monitor and inducement are carried out,which contributes to improve the urban traffic road network efficiency and raises city people's living standard.The vehicles positioning system is one of important support technologies for intelligent transportation.The correct positioning of vehicles which are considered as the mobile nodes can carry on the effective operation of the urban transportation state observation and control.Compared to the wired sensor pattern,the detection and control of the wireless sensor networks have considerable advantages in the equipment cost, deployment environment,maintenance and upgrade,stabilization and reliability,and so on.Therefore,the paper study the method of vehicle location in wireless sensor networks,and carry out the wireless sensor network node hardware and software development which on the area of urban road traffic-oriented applications.The research content depends on the project of"The State Natural Sciences Foundation"named as"Wireless sensor network modeling of urban road traffic information acquisition and the research of information coordination processing method (project number 60874079),which focus on the application of the wireless sensor network in the intelligent transportation.In order to achieve the basic functions of the vehicles wireless location,a set of wireless position system was built in the laboratory, which used the TI CC2430/CC2431 for ZigBee wireless communications hardware platform to realize the vehicle position demonstration.The paper focuses on performance analysis of the wireless localization method and the realization of the vehicles wireless localization function.The paper has studied the architecture of wireless sensor network.The node localization method based on the RSSI examination is analyzed emphatically.The experiment verified the correctness of RSSI examination's the performance indicators and the parameter indicators in the actual environment application.The paper carried out the research of ZigBee wireless communication method and analyzes the ZigBee protocol stack's architecture.Above this foundation,the basic research of intelligent transportation using wireless sensor networks is carried on,which include the access of the traffic state information,data transmission,vehicles wireless localization and so on. Simulation experiments of a wireless location-related vehicle have been done under school campus's environment,parking area environment,and so on.The experiments realized the accurate localization of vehicles within the coverage area of reference node, and have made the relevant data analysis.The paper makes an adequate experiment in order to verify the function of the vehicles positioning system based on wireless sensor network using ZigBee,and carries on observation and analysis to network of ZigBee protocol stack and data exchange process.The wire sensor network which oriented towards the access to the traffic state information using field bus and Ethernet is contrasted and analyzed.
