With the development of wireless communication technology, embedded technology and intelligent sensor technology, wireless sensor networks has become a hot area of research in recent years at home and abroad. Wireless sensor networks research must include modern microelectronic technology, the system SoC chip design technology, nanotechnology, wireless communication technology, computer network technology and so on. It can achieve integrated, systematic, networking, and low power design. In recent years, ZigBee technology is on behalf of the wireless sensor network technology, which can capture more and more attention. ZigBee wireless location technology is a device for low-cost positioning technology. It is low-power, low-cost, distributing and high reliability, which brings a tremendous change to the field of wireless location.This article studies the ZigBee protocol, analyzes the characteristics of ZigBee technology and compares with other wireless location technologys, which comes to the ZigBee positioning technology the feasibility and advantages. On this basis, the article analysis the structure of physical layer, MAC layer, network layer, application layer, transmission and network structure. The article combines with the newest ZigBee positioning technology research, designes to RSSI-based personnel location technology system. The article uses the ZigBee wireless network with CAN bus technology as a combination of wireless location communications platform, collects real-time personnel positioning data. This article describes the function of the system equipment such as the system’s hardware design and software design, which is including the CC2430chip reference node module wireless transceiver, the CC2431chip positioning node module, CAN bus transmission hardware design/software design and the ZigBee protocol stack positioning system software design.Finally, this paper presents the results of ZigBee positioning system, analyzes location data, points out the disadvantage, and prospects for future development.
