The Design And Development Of Teachers' Performance Appraisal System

Nowadays, the world has become a highly-informationized one, in which people's daily life and work is combining more and more closely with the computer network. Along with the fast development of the network technology, the B/S network framework has been widely employed into a number of industries, such as the remote education system based on the WEB information management system, the flight reservation system, and the online shopping system. However, in schools, it is still hard to find a well-developed performance appraisal system that is based on WEB. The ones available at the moment need further improvement in functions, which fail to reflect the teaching quality and teaching level profoundly and objectively.On account of the above problems, the author of this thesis communicated with the leaders, colleagues, and students of the school he is working in, and analyzed the needs of the teachers in their work. Based on the ASP.net technology and Visual Studio 2008 technology, this thesis designed and completed a performance appraisal system with the basis of the B/S framework.The system is open for three kinds of users, all students in school, the deans of teaching departments, and the manager of the system. The main function modules include User Management, System Initialization, Teaching Evaluation, Administration Evaluation, Data Statistics, Inquiry and Printing.In order to represent the whole process of developing this system, this thesis focuses on three parts, the needs study of the index system, the system design, and the realization of the main function modules. On the whole, this appraisal system applys the mature computer network technology to a brand new teaching management area, which greatly decrease the cost, save the manpower, improve the efficiency of teaching management, and realize the paperless office in a real sense. In general, this system makes great contribution to enhance the teaching management level of the school.
