The Design Of Distributed Network Inventory Management System And The Related Key Technology Investigation

Network Inventory Management plans and manages the hardware, software, administrators and so on, which are related to Internet. According to the actual characteristics of Internet network inventory, the thesis designs a distributeri Network Inventory Management System that is suitable for the network operatore in China. The system implements the unified management of physical inventory and real time traé‘• of logical inventory based on distributed management policy of physical and logical inventory. According to the system design requirements, the key modules are realized with the method of software in this system.First, the thesis analyzes the typical architecture of the operators1 network, and explores the devices and every network aspect, and then the distributed network inventory idea is presented. After investigating the status of the netvvork inventory deeply, a series of physical and logical inventory related to netvvork are induced and classified. At the same time, a research policy of unified management of physical inventory and dynamic management of logical inventory is discussed. The thesis then designs the architecture of distributed Netvvork Inventory Management based on our analysis.Secondly, the thesis details the design architecture of distributed netvvork inventory management, and induced the processes for realizing it. Through analyzing the related technologies, the thesis concludes three kinds of key technologies to realize the system, such as the building of inventory database, real time collection of logical inventory and ali kinds of arithmetic to analyze the inventory.According to the acquirements of the designed management system, the single node model of inventory database is established and implemented by using the popular Microsoft Access database management system. The thesis discusses the analysis and design of real time collection of logical inventory data emphatically. The data collection of netvvork gateway devices based on simple netvvork management protocol (SNMP) and Local Area Network devices based on Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) are also implemented. At last, the thesis analyzes and researches the algorithm to implement the inventory management functions.
