Currently the market competition has entered the era of supply chain competition.Lean logistics,JIT production,delay manufacturing and other new operation modes have become effective ways for enterprises to effectively manage inventory and reduce inventory cost.But high inventory and slow turnover are common problems in manufacturing industry.Strengthening inventory management and optimizing inventory control have become one of the core objectives of manufacturing enterprise management.Since 2006,with the new round of national optical communication network construction and the huge development of 4G and 5G technology application,China's optical communication enterprises have entered a rapid development stage,and domestic optical communication enterprises have begun to move to the international market.J company is an optical communication manufacturing enterprise established earlier in Wuhan Optical Valley.After more than 20 years of development,the business scale of the company has been expanding,and the domestic and foreign competition is increasingly fierce.With the aggravation of international trade friction in recent years,J company is facing more and more market pressure.How to reduce inventory and reduce inventory cost under the premise of meeting customer demand has become a problem that enterprises have been exploring and trying to solve.High inventory and slow turnover are common problems in manufacturing industry.Optimizing inventory management and enhancing inventory control have become one of the core indicators of manufacturing enterprises.It is of practical significance to study the problems of enterprise inventory management and provide theoretical support for inventory management.This thesis will analyze and study the causes and problems of inventory formation of J company,and put forward relevant suggestions for optimizing inventory management of J company.This thesis uses case study method to study the inventory management of J company.First of all,through the theoretical analysis of inventory management of manufacturing enterprises under the supply chain environment,this thesis lays a theoretical foundation for the study of J company's inventory problem.Secondly,following the basic norms of case study method,this thesis analyzes the basic situation,organizational and supply chain management status of J company.Thirdly,the thesis analyzes the problems of J company's inventory management to find the reasons behind the high inventory.Finally,the thesis puts forward the plan and measures of optimizing inventory management.In this thesis,we find that there are some deficiencies in the operation process of inventory management and inventory management measures of J company.It mainly includes the lack of risk assessment and management of customer demand forecast,the lack of management of safety stock,the lack of experience in new project forecast management,and the lack of establishment of supplier management inventory model.In view of these shortcomings,this thesis puts forward the inventory management optimization scheme,including the rationality evaluation of optimizing customer demand forecast,the establishment and regular check of safety stock,the optimization of supplier management stock,etc.The inventory management problem of J company is typical and outstanding in the manufacturing industry.This thesis' s relevant reasons and improvement suggestions will be used for reference to other enterprises' inventory management optimization.
