Research On The Construction And Service Of Special Collections In Fuzhou Library

In recent years,many libraries are facing the pressure of resource construction and service due to the homogenization of resources and the individualization of readers’ demands.They gradually realize that the characteristic of resources and service is an important goal of library construction in addition to the development of information technology.As the most unique,different and scarce resources,the special collections has received a lot of attention and become the focus of public library resource construction.Based on this background,the author selected Fujian province city library,the Fuzhou library as the research object,through the network survey and offline research,for the special collection construction and service present situation.And analyze the usage of the readers of special collections and satisfaction level.Through literature analysis and network research to find that the present situation of special collection construction in domestic public libraries,and higher overall level of special collection resources construction,to the library,introduces the characteristics of the analysis to the Fuzhou library and public libraries to provide a reference.This paper is mainly divided into four parts for research.The first part is the introduction and overview,which specifically expounds the connotation of special collections,the construction and service of special collections resources and other related basic theories.The second part is the investigation and analysis of the special collection resources construction and service of Fuzhou Library.From the four aspects of construction content,service content,construction methods and use management of special collection resources,this paper introduces and analyzes the current situation of the construction and service of characteristic collection resources in Fuzhou Library.At the same time,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the readers who had used the featured collection resources and services.It was found that the readers had a high level of overall satisfaction with the featured collection resources and services of the Fuzhou Library.Opening hours and other aspects still need to be strengthened.In the third part,there are bright spots and deficiencies in the construction and service of Fuzhou Library’s special collection resources,and corresponding development suggestions.According to the investigation and analysis in the second part,this paper concludes that the special collection resources of Fuzhou Library have the highlights of rich literature resources in Fuzhou,various forms of reading promotion,and standardization of characteristic digital resources.There are several difficulties and deficiencies such as the low level of development and management,the low degree of specialization of digital resources,and the need to strengthen the co-construction and sharing of resources.In response to the above problems,this paper proposes to broaden publicity channels,strengthen the reserve of technical talents,enrich local characteristic resources,build a collection system with characteristics of Fuzhou,dig deep into the connotation of special collection resources,promote the in-depth development of cultural and tourism services,and strengthen resource organization and development.Four countermeasures and suggestions,including building a resource sharing platform,are expected to provide a certain reference for the development of special collection resources in Fuzhou Library.The fourth part is the summary and outlook,which analyzes and summarizes the shortcomings of the overall research content and survey results of this paper,as well as relevant suggestions that can be supplemented in the future.
