Investigation And Research On Characteristic Resources Construction Of University Libraries In Wuhan

The characteristic construction of university library resources has become an inevitable trend in the information age.As an important literature resources information service institutions,the university library information resource construction measure can not be limited to the quantity of library,but also in can provide valuable information for the user,the popularization of library service has gradually cannot meet the teachers and students a variety of research and learning needs,therefore,it is necessary to the construction of characteristic resources.The establishment of characteristic resources in university library can not only provide users with all-round information services,but also realize the exchange and sharing of information resources and improve the utilization rate of information.While giving full play to the service function of information resources,the establishment of characteristic resources can also enhance the competitiveness of university libraries in the information society,and help libraries to better stand on the information society.Since the 1990 s,many university libraries in China have gradually begun to pay attention to the construction of characteristic resources,combining their own advantages in subjects,characteristic collections and geographical location to build characteristic resources,but there are still many areas to be improved.Therefore,it is of certain theoretical significance and practical value to study the relevant contents in the construction of characteristic resources of university library.Wuhan as one of national important science and education base,with 83 regular institutions of higher learning,including 46 undergraduate colleges,is number of colleges and universities in our country's second city,in the aspect of characteristic resources construction of university library has achieved good results,some colleges and universities such as wuhan university library has already formed the unique subjects and resources advantage of the characteristic resources construction mode,but the construction of university library advantage difficult to influence the development of regional library,therefore in wuhan area investigation and analysis on the construction of characteristic resources of university library has certain representativeness,It can provide comparison and reference for universities in Wuhan and other regions.This article selects wuhan 23 public undergraduate university library as a sample,by the methods of literature study method,Internet survey,content analysis and case analysis and other research methods,on the 23 public undergraduate university library characteristic collection construction of entity,website construction of column number distribution,construction of subject distribution,database,user friendly situation,database construction mode for detailed statistics and analysis.On the basis of the general survey of characteristic resources construction of university libraries in Wuhan area,this paper selects comprehensive Wuhan University,Huazhong Agricultural University in agriculture and forestry,South-Central Minzu University in ethnology and Hubei University of Technology in science and technology as typical cases to study their characteristics and shortcomings respectively.Through investigation and analysis,it is found that there are six problems existing in the construction of characteristic resources of university libraries in Wuhan area:Insufficient physical characteristic resource digitalization construction,uneven characteristic resource construction theme,no significant characteristic of characteristic resources,characteristic resources follow-up maintenance is not timely,the special characteristics of the low degree of resource sharing,resources not enough publicity,etc.,and six Suggestions are given,some are to strengthen physical characteristic resource digitalization construction,promote the balanced development of the characteristic resources construction subject,strengthen the characteristic resource database sharing,characteristic resources updated regularly to maintain open degree,strengthen the characteristic resources,strengthen the characteristic resources for promotion.It is hoped that this study can further improve the comprehensive strength of university libraries in Wuhan and promote the development of universities in Wuhan.
