The Correlation Research On Construction Of Characteristic Resources And Key Disciplines Of985Project University Libraries

As an important scientific research base, Colleges and universities has significant subject characteristics and disciplines advantage. In order to cater to the needs of continuous development and progress of the various disciplines in the information society which is characterized by knowledge dissemination and utilization, university library, as a literature resource base, its service orientation gradually changes from resources construction to subject service, and its resources construction is connected with key disciplines more and more. Construction of special resources provided resource base for the construction of key disciplines, and construction of key disciplines promotes and constrains the level of construction of special resources. At this time, university library should rely on the advantage of its key disciplines, combined with its resource base and the Library and Information professional advantage, builds special resources based on key disciplines. Comprehensively collect all kinds of information in subject areas, strengthen the integration and consolidation of information resources, achieve academic resource navigation and conduct in-depth knowledge mining, build the resources security system which has a distinct discipline characteristic.In order to be able to reflect the level of development of the construction of special resources in our library, the author selects39"985Project" University Libraries in our country as a sample. At the same time, select the University of Cambridge and Yale University, these two well-known foreign university libraries, to do comparative study. Investigation of the circumstances of their library about special resources, especially subject characteristics resources, and national key disciplines. The author use statistical analysis tools SPSS analysis the correlation between construction of special resources and key disciplines of university library in China. Reveals their relevance is not high, and then put forward our libraries have problems in the construction of subject characteristics resources at the moment, such as inadequate attention, low degree of integration, unbalanced construction level and subject characteristics is not prominent and so on. To solve these problems, the author suggest that carrying out the construction of characteristic resource around the key disciplines. In the construction, as far as possible closely linked them, in order to achieve the situation of mutual promotion. In particular, strategies are as follows:to raise awareness and give attention to construction of disciplines features resources; to service of the scholastic education and research based on the basic functions; to establish specialty collection and characteristic digital resources based on the key disciplines; to establish discipline repository and develop characteristic services; to set up technology development departments and integrated library resource; to establish a team of subject librarians which has excellent quality and rational structure; to strengthen interlibrary cooperation and exchanges, and sharing of resources. The author hopes that through joint efforts with domestic counterparts, constantly solve and perfect the construction strategies of the characteristic resources which based on key disciplines in University Library. View to improve the value and level of construction of the Characteristic resources in University Library in China. Thus better develop and service the economic society.
