| In recent years,the issue of population aging has gained more attention due to the expanding elderly population,the elderly population is expanding and the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly need to be addressed.Improving the quality of life and cultural literacy of the elderly is a crucial task in response to an aging society.As a public information service provider,public libraries have the obligation and responsibility to provide quality services for the majority of elderly people.This article takes information equity theory and information ecosystem theory as the theoretical basis,and combines literature survey method and network survey method to investigate the current situation of elderly reader services in public libraries in Sichuan and Chongqing region.The article identifies that the service elements of public library elderly reader services mainly include four major elements: service subjects,service resources,service environment and service methods and contents.Through the investigation of the above four aspects,the basic situation of the current service of elderly readers in public libraries in Sichuan-Chongqing area was sorted out.The questionnaire was constructed based on the KANO model to understand the basic information of the elderly population and their needs for library information services,and to explore the attitudes and opinions of the elderly towards the services provided by public libraries in Sichuan and Chongqing region from the reader perspective.Four types of demand were identified: essential demand,desired demand,charming demand and undifferentiated demand.The analysis of demand is used to clarify the shortcomings of current public library services for elderly readers against the current status of service provision.Through the above research and demand analysis,effective optimization measures will be summarized to enhance the service level of public libraries.After the research and analysis,in order to improve the problems of public libraries in the information service for the elderly,it is proposed that public libraries should provide more space for elderly reading activities to improve the necessary demand supply,building barrier-free facilities and enriching service content to meet desired demand,developing service specifications and optimizing service resources to meet charming demand,and strengthening publicity and providing volunteer positions to meet non-differentiated demand.The purpose of this study is to provide reference for the follow-up research and practical work of public library elderly reader services. |
