Research And Realization Of RFID Reader Based On Reader Protocol

In recent years, RFID technology has developed fast and been widely used.The reader is an important part of RFID system,so its design technology will definitely effect the overall application of RFID,however, the RFID readers produced by vendors now have many problems,for example, the cost of RFID reader is high,the interfaces between readers and upper level applications are heterogeneous, the function of reader is very simple,etc. all these reasons limit overall application of RFID technology.In order to specifies the interaction between readers and upper level application, EPC Global presents Reader Protocal.With in-depth study of the Reader Protocol, this paper presents the design and implementation of RFID Reader based on the Protocol.We embedded software into the reader, facilitating the access, control and managemant of RFID readers.At the same time, we discuss the anti-collision algorithm of RFID reader,and improve the algorithm for generating the parameter Q presented by EPC Gen2. The research results show that the improved algorithm reduces the total number of slots and outperforms the conventional Q algorithm presented by EPC Gen2.Besides, we add data processing to software, provides function of data filtering and event detecting,the data stream from hardware is primitive,redundancy, uncertainty,if we transport it to host without any processing,it will lead tremendous pressure on network bandwidth,so we add data processing to software,which provides data filtering and event detecting, thereby avoid unnecessary data transmission and reduce the workload of upper level application.This paper presented the design of UHF RFID reader based on Reader Protocal,the reader is also in accord with ISO18000-6C and EPCGen2 protocals,besides,it has many functions,such as data filtering and event detecting,It can be widely used.
