| The importance of collective memory in shaping historical,national and ethnic identity cannot be overstated,not only for the present,but also for the past and future,in which the media has always played a very important role.Disasters occur at every stage of human social development,but almost every disaster brings forth countless heroes who give the public the courage and determination to overcome disasters and leave an indelible mark on collective memory.In this regard,the role of hero narratives in disaster news cannot be underestimated,and it is not difficult to find that journalists often use this narrative to restore the scene and shape the image of heroes,so that the public can have a deeper understanding of disasters and heroes.This study also intends to accumulate experience on how the media can better use heroic narratives in disaster events,improve communication effects,and contribute to the writing and construction of collective memory.The full paper contains three main parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction starts from the phenomenon and the problem,and compares the existing results,and finally finds that no scholars have studied the combination of disaster news,heroic narratives and collective memory construction,which is both the innovation point of this paper and the call of the times.The first chapter of the main text starts from the connection of the three,establishes a logical relationship,and thus develops the thesis that disasters provide an interpretative field for heroes,heroic narratives enrich and enhance the textual content of disaster news,and the two together satisfy the public’s hero complex and write such collective memories.On the contrary,the existing collective memory advances and helps disaster news hero narratives to express specific ideas and values,and there is a coupling and symbiosis between them.The second chapter focuses on the specific means and methods,based on the analysis of theories such as narrative and collective memory,and concludes that the heroic narrative of disaster news writes and strengthens collective memory through three dimensions: "story" portrayal,which emphasizes the form of content;"discourse" production,which focuses on the form of expression;and "narrative" construction,which produces discourse.In terms of "story",heroic archetypes and intertextual writing are mostly used;in terms of "discourse",flashbacks with repetitive narrative time combinations are often used,and narrative rhetoric such as war metaphors and family metaphors are also used based on the characteristics of disasters and heroes;in terms of "narrative",journalists choose different narrative voices and perspectives according to the actual situation,especially the voices of "self" and "other" and composite narrative perspectives.The last chapter concludes from the perspective of function and significance that disaster news hero narratives and collective memory construction help people understand the past,face the present,and look forward to the future,and enable the public to experience the whole process from inheriting the spirit to participating in mobilization and finally strengthening identity.In this way,both disaster news hero narratives and collective memory construction can be analyzed and understood from a new perspective,and ultimately achieve the purpose of expanding their theoretical horizons and enriching their academic connotations. |
