Research On The Construction Of Collective Memory In The TV Variety Show "Seeing Words As Faces"

With the modernization of media technology and the rise of market economy,mass culture and consumerism are influencing the TV variety industry imperceptibly.At the end of 2016,the emergence of a TV variety show "Letters Alive" set off a discussion upsurge in the society.In the information age of rapid development,the members of social groups are surrounded by a large number of information,a large amount of fragmented information is full of the life of the audience,people are gradually difficult to get used to receiving deep,logical information.The era we are in has entered an important historical stage in which the collective memory of the nation needs to be reconstructed in a large amount.The appearance of "Letters Alive" brings an opportunity for the audience to have a proper rest and listen,while meeting the cultural needs of the audience,through the letters of historical figures,it shows the precious feelings of home and country and the universal emotions in China for five thousand years,guides the members of social ethnic groups to arouse the collective memory,and enhances the national emotional identity of the members of social ethnic groups.It is such an opportunity that in the era of art industrialization,"naked make-up" went to battle,not deliberately to please the audience,but got a lot of praise.Seeing words as a surface has innate advantages in the construction of collective memory.By using the convenience of mass media,we can construct collective memory in a broader social and ethnic field in a richer form of film and television without the limitation of time and space.For a nation,the construction of collective memory is particularly important.The individual in the social ethnic group obtains the legitimacy of the individual identity through their own sense of identity generated by culture.From the point of view of the country and the nation,the construction of collective memory is the basis of the construction of national cultural identity and national identity,as well as an important link to maintain national security and the stable development of national culture.In the first chapter,the author expounds the social context of collective memory construction in "Letters Alive",mainly from the background and significance of the times.The mass culture and consumerism challenge the elite culture which originally has the right to speak;the traditional culture faces the crisis of cultural identity under the impact of foreign culture;the digestion of "communication memory" by "cultural memory" makes the framework of collective memory lack the details of individual memory.The collective memory constructed in "seeing words as faces" is of greatsignificance in the era of deepening the public cultural memory and enhancing the identity of members of social ethnic groups.The second chapter of this paper mainly expounds the construction of symbol representation system of collective memory construction in "Letters Alive".From the aspects of linguistic symbol representation,visual non-verbal symbol representation and auditory non-verbal symbol representation,this paper analyzes the symbolic construction of audio-visual language of characters by using the film and television narration of programs.Through the accumulation,aggregation and strengthening of symbols,the program activates the cultural symbols in the letters and constructs the cultural context.In the third chapter,the author analyzes the writing path of collective memory construction in "Letters Alive".From the perspective of "carving practice" and "memorial ceremony",this paper analyzes the process of "coding" and "decoding" for the collective memory displayed in the letter culture.In the process of constructing collective memory,the program completed the "second depiction" of memory,and created a memorial ceremony in the social field by using the media fusion writing.In the fourth chapter,the author summarizes the cultural meaning of the collective memory construction of "Letters Alive".By decoding and coding the letter text,the author finds that the program mainly explores the memory wake-up and emotional call in the aspects of family feelings,flesh and blood,love,self-cultivation from the perspective of people and their country,people and others,people and themselves.The fifth chapter is about the construction of collective memory.From the two dimensions of subject demand and memory reconstruction mechanism,this paper explains the shortcomings of the program in the construction of collective memory.In the context of consumerism,the intervention of commercial market on the program,the confrontation of audience decoding,the fragmentation of individual letter narrative,and the forgetting of memory in the process of writing can not avoid affecting the integrity of collective memory construction of the program.
