Discourse Research On Chinese News Commentary From The Perspective Of Construction

As a special type of news report,news review makes in-depth analysis and interpretation of news facts on the basis of sorting out and summarizing them,which not only satisfies the audience’s thirst for knowledge but also improves their interest in reading.As the mainstream party newspaper in China,People’s Daily is also very authoritative in information transmission and public opinion guidance.Since the reform and opening up,People’s Daily’s news review has presented a discourse trend of promoting the harmonious development of society.Then how does the People’s Daily news commentary construct its discourse? What are the features of "construction" discourse?Based on these problems,this paper takes 1638 news reviews published by People’s Daily from1978 to 2021 as research samples,systematically combs the samples from macro time context and micro perspectives such as length,theme and category of reviews.Then through the People’s Daily news review six types of thematic structure and the choice of vocabulary,sentence pattern rhetoric expression,clear its "constructive" characteristics.The research finds that the "constructive" features of People’s Daily’s news commentary include the following three aspects: first,its ideological characteristics,which are mainly manifested as the guidance of public opinion supervision,diversified reporting subjects and positive propaganda;Secondly,its intertextuality is reflected in its intertextuality with political discourse,social situation and precise figures.Finally,its descriptive features are as follows: grasping macro facts in discourse expression,constructing critical text with narration and discussion,and being simple and close to the public.The People’s Daily’s news review has its own advantages and also has enlightenment for other newspapers and periodicals.First,it gives full play to its advantages of "depth + breadth" and insists on party spirit.Second,actively close to the audience,will be concerned about the events,problems,situation,etc.,deepen the audience’s interest,so that the audience actively pay attention to the genre of news review;Third,improve the quality of reporters in many aspects.In today’s period of rapid social development,things are complex and changeable,so it is of great help for journalists to improve their own quality to write news reviews,and the news reviews they write also play an important role in social construction and development.Since the reform and opening up,People’s Daily’s news review has advantages for the construction of China’s social development and the audience’s reception of news.In the future,we should grasp this advantage to carry forward the genre of news review.
