| [Objective] To investigate the status quo of grassroots employment cognition,attitude and willingness of medical students in junior college.This paper analyzes the influencing factors of students’ cognition,attitude and willingness of grassroots employment from the aspects of individual,family and school,and explores the path of influencing students’ willingness of grassroots employment with the mode of knowledge and belief.According to the significant influencing factors and influencing paths,this paper puts forward some suggestions on guiding the grass-roots employment willingness of medical students in junior college.[Methods] In this study,questionnaires were compiled by literature method and interview method,and stratified cluster sampling method was adopted to send questionnaires to students of eight majors in three grades of a medical college in Hubei province,and 1798 valid questionnaires were collected.The research object of grass-roots employment was students who planned to find employment in their major after graduation,with a sample size of 920.The average and percentage methods were used to describe the cognition,attitude and willingness of medical students in junior college.Anova,t test,Chisquare test and binary Logistic regression were used to analyze the main factors affecting the cognition,attitude and willingness of medical students in junior college.Based on the knowledge,trust and practice model,the influence path of grass-roots employment intention of medical students in junior college was constructed and verified.[Results] 82.83% of the respondents were willing to work in grassroots medical and health institutions;The average level of grassroots employment awareness was 0.596±0.158,and the average level of grassroots employment attitude was 0.730±0.134.Binary Logistic regression test showed that the specialty was traditional Chinese medicine(β=0.923,P=0.006),personal consumption level(β=-0.810,P<0.001),parents’ attitude towards their children’s grassroots employment(β=1.304,P<0.001),the employment guidance at the grassroots level of the school(β=0.404,P=0.003)had a significant impact on the students’ employment intention at the grassroots level.The results of path analysis show that grassroots employment cognition has direct influence on grassroots employment intention(Path Coefficient=-0.073,P<0.05),and through the grassroots employment attitude(Path Coefficient=0.444,P<0.001),influencing grassroots employment intention(Path Coefficient=0.196,P<0.001).The ideological and political implementation of school curriculum affects students’ attitude towards employment at the grassroots level(Path Coefficient=0.112,P< 0.001),affecting students’ employment intention at the grassroots level(Path Coefficient=0.196,P<0.001).Grassroots employment guidance in schools affects students’ grassroots employment attitude(Path Coefficient=0.450,P<0.001),affecting students’ employment intention at the grassroots level(Path Coefficient=0.196,P<0.001).Parents’ attitude towards grassroots employment is influenced by students’ attitude towards grassroots employment(Path Coefficien=0.156,P<0.001),affecting students’ employment intention at the grassroots level(Path Coefficient=0.196,P<0.001).The analysis of qualitative data shows that the employment intention of students at grassroots level is also affected by factors such as the place of origin and whether the students are the only child or not.[Conclusions] 1.Medical students in junior colleges have a higher intention to further their studies in graduation planning,but a lower intention to find employment in graduation planning.2.Medical students in junior colleges have high employment intention at the grassroots level,but they are not familiar with the current employment situation and policies at the grass-roots level.3.Major,personal consumption level,parents’ attitude towards children’s grass-roots employment and school’s grass-roots employment guidance are the main influencing factors of medical students’ grass-roots employment intention.4.Curriculum ideological and political perception,parents’ attitude towards their children’s grassroots employment,and national awareness of grassroots employment can achieve indirect positive impact on students’ grassroots intention through influencing students’ grassroots employment attitude.5.Employment guidance should be strengthened to convey information about the employment situation,the current situation of grass-roots medical institutions and the national grass-roots employment policy;Integration of professional courses into curriculum ideology and politics;Governments at all levels have implemented national policies to improve the working environment and treatment of medical staff in community-level medical institutions. |
