Reading is the core of language teaching,and extracurricular reading is an important part of reading teaching.Under the background of double reduction,the time for extracurricular reading has increased,and the form has also changed to a certain extent,which has posed new challenges to teachers’ reading guidance.At the same time,with the concretization of the requirements for extracurricular reading in primary schools by the new curriculum standard,how to more effectively improve the guidance effect of extracurricular reading through integration inside and outside the classroom and home-school cooperation has become a topic worthy of in-depth study.This paper takes the senior students of D Primary School in Y City as the research subjects,and uses questionnaire survey method,interview method and observation method to investigate the shortcomings of extracurricular reading guidance in Chinese in the school.According to the survey,this study finds that the current Chinese extracurricular reading guidance mainly has the following problems:1.Students lack interest in reading the books recommended by teachers.2.Insufficient time for extracurricular reading guidance.3.Extracurricular reading evaluation and other issues.Through analysis,this study believes that the main reasons for the above problems are:1.Improper content selection.2.Teachers do not understand enough about the double reduction policy and parents pay low attention.3.There is a bias in the cognition of the evaluation concept of language reading,and the evaluation method uses machinery.Based on the above analysis,this study proposes the following improvement strategies:1.Strengthen the guidance process to cultivate students’ interest.2.Strengthen understanding.3.Start by changing the evaluation method,improve the guidance strategy of primary school Chinese extracurricular reading,improve the efficiency of extracurricular reading,and help students form good reading literacy.It mainly starts from the "double reduction",finds out the problems existing in the extracurricular reading of primary school Chinese under the background of "double reduction",and explores how teachers can improve students’ extracurricular reading under the background of "double reduction" and improve the effect of students’extracurricular reading.In this process,using questionnaire surveys and teacher interviews,combined with the study of school learning situation,starting from the background of "double reduction",to develop a guidance strategy based on traditional reading teaching and more in line with the connotation of quality education,through the survey,this study found that the current primary school Chinese extracurricular reading has problems such as students’ low interest,insufficient reading time,and slow ability improvement.After analysis,this study believes that the main reasons for the above problems include improper selection of reading materials,poor understanding of teachers,and single evaluation methods.In view of the above problems,this study believes that the current situation of extracurricular reading of Chinese in primary schools can be improved from several aspects,such as cultivating students’ interest,deepening teachers’ understanding,and improving evaluation strategies.
