A Preliminary Study Of The Flora Of Wuyi Mountains

Wuyi Mountains are the most diverse mountains in Fujian and Jiangxi provinces,and are also one of the most important type specimen producing areas in the world.The earliest collection and investigation of plants in Wuyi Mountains can be traced back to the Opium War in the 19th century.Since then,missionaries and naturalists from different countries have successively visited Wuyi Mountain area for investigation and research.With the awakening of Chinese people’s sovereignty consciousness,since 1920s,a group of taxonomists in China began to investigate,collect and study the plants in Wuyi Mountains.Such activities reached the peak in the second half of the 20th century and have continued until now.In this study,specimens and literature as the main research object,using Octopus information collection technology,to maximize the collection of specimens collected from Wuyi Mountains,according to the specimen information to form a relatively complete and reliable list of plants,on this basis,textual research related literature to supplement the list.In addition,through the study of local flora,Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae(FRPS)and original species literature,the list of plants in Wuyi Mountains was further revised and improved.There are 3138 species of vascular plants in Wuyi Mountains,which belong to 1046 genera and 212 families.Among them,there are 306 species(including 8 varieties and 3 subspecies)of pteridophytes(including 8 varieties and 3 subspecies),8 families,21 genera and 35 species(including 2 varieties)of gymnosperms,and 2797 species(including 140 varieties,26 subspecies and 2 forms)of angiosperms,including 2199 species(including 118 varieties,25 subspecies and 2 forms)of dicotyledons(including 118 varieties,25 subspecies and 2 forms)of dicotyledons,26 families,226 genera and 598 species(including 24 varieties and 1 subspecies)of monocotyledons.The results of this study are as follows:1.Model species(60 species)and endemic species(36 species)in Wuyishan Mountain;2.New records from Fujian(141 species)and Jiangxi new record(95 species);3.Supplement of Fujian flora species at county level(392 species);4.Supplement of FRPS and FOC to Fujian flora(165 species),Fujian flora to FRPS and FOC(24 species).In addition,through specimen study and literature research,13 species of plants,such as Dryopteris ferruginea and so on,were treated,and the printing errors of 7 taxa were corrected.This study is the most comprehensive and relatively accurate report of plants in Wuyi Mountains so far.It provides basic information for the compilation and research of Wuyishan flora in the future.It is of great significance to understand the utilization,development and protection of plant resources in Wuyi Mountain area,and is helpful to promote the research progress of plant geography and biodiversity in Wuyi Mountains.
