Xinjiang Barlikhtaw mountains possesses abundant biological diversity with itsspecial geographic position and its flora is at the edge of several major flora,at theeast-west direction, it is transition of Iran-Tu Lan (Kazakhstan) flora to Junggarflora, at the north-south direction, it is transition of Sibirica-Altai flora to Tianshanflora,being the ideal natural laboratory of observation and study of Central Asiaenvironmental change impacts on biodiversity. On the other hand, the Natural Reserveof wild amygdalaus in Barlikhtaw mountains is the most important Natural Reserve ofXinjiang,Often called as a paradise for nature,Its main object of protection isBaerluke Mountain forest ecosystems and wild amygdalaus,wild malus and otherendangered and rare species. Protection of the Barlikhtaw mountains flora palys ansignificant role not only in protecting of Wild Fauna and Flora of the Barlikhtawmountains、but also the in the Eco-environmental protection, it would also providethe data and meterial resourses for the advancement of the Natural Reserve.From these perspectives, on the basis of previous studies this paper, with the helpof a large number of references and field investigations,and using the plant theoriesand methods of geography,phytogeography and other related disciplines,as well asthe use of mathematical and statistical methods,has studied floracomposition,geographical elements, vegetation life form, ecotype, endemism in theflora,the relic species. Meanwhile, this paper have analyzed the similarity betweenflora of Barlikhtaw mountains and the flora of surrounding mountain area,also triedto regionalize the Barlikhtaw mountains vegetation area.The main findings are asfollows:(1)There are86families461genera and1296species of higher plants inBarlikhtaw mountains, including6families,8genera and11species ofpteridophytes.(2)There are three biggest families in Barlikhtaw mountains,which are Asteraceae Poaceae and Fabaceae, including424species,made up32.6%.(3)In the areal type of families, the Widespread areal type is the most biggestareal tpye, including42families, made up28.9%. In the areal tpye of genera, theNorth Temperate areal type is the dominant areal type, including178generas, madeup38.6%. In the areal type of species, the temperate areal type is dominant, including297species.There7species endemic to Barlikhtaw mountains.(4) The Hemicryptophyte are the biggest life form in Barlikhtawmountains,made up61.1%, This is a characteristic of temperate regions plants. Theannuals are the biggest ecotype,and the annuals in this area not only reflects the area’sarid environment, Also reflect the characteristics of plant life forms in Xinjiang.(5)analysis of the floristic coefficient between the three mountain shows that,Barlikhtaw mountains flora and the Altai mountains flora are the closest two flora,also there is certain relitavity between Barlikhtaw mountain and Tianshan flora, Thisproves that the flora of Barlikhtaw mountains is a transitional flora of Altai flora overTianshan.(5)We achieved the regionalization of the Barlikhtaw mountains vegetationarea acording to the regionalization principle.
