Risk Management Study Of Integrated Circuits Projects In Company A

Lately,under the background of entrepreneurship boom and the integrated circuit industry boom,thousands of small fabless IC suppliers were stablished in Chinese Mainland.However,they are mostly in the early stage of entrepreneurship with small scale,and even when they've found the profitable product line to keep the business survival,they are still facing many risks that are stopping them from growing further,especially when their only profitable business market tends to be saturated and noisy.As an IC design startup,the company A is encountering such dilemma: when shifting from a single business to a diversification strategy,the company found the risks in product life cycle are increasing which result in low success rate and long design cycle of new products.With the IC projects in the company A as the research object and its dilemma stated above as the background,the paper starts from the perspective of risk management.Based on a breakdown of the IC project of Company A,brainstorming method was adopted by organizing related employees from corresponding working stage and 20 risk factors were finally identified.And after that,questionnaire surveys and analytic hierarchy process were used to evaluate and analyze the identified risk factors.Finally,according to the analysis result,some risk responses such as an adjustment of the management system are proposed.Some of the risk responses were operated in Company A and the result somehow presents a positive effect.The list of risk factors and the risk responses proposed in the paper are not only applicable guidance for the Company A,but also a significant reference for the similar company in the industry.
