Reading is an important way for people to acquire knowledge.With the continuous improvement of the economic level and the continuous development of life,the entire population attaches more importance to the reading of books.The scope of social services for children's libraries in China has become wider and wider.More and more public institutions and governments have begun to attach importance to children's libraries for parent-child reading.Parent-child reading,as a new concept introduced from abroad,is introduced and developed relatively late in our country,but it has already been practiced in children's libraries.Children's library plays an important role in the guidance of children's reading and the construction of collection resources.The library carries out parent-child reading services and activities,which makes the service of children's library more diversified and innovative.The parent-child reading service carried out by children's library makes parents pay more attention to children's reading,guides parents to use more scientific reading methods,and selects more reasonable parent-child reading materials.This article takes the Xiamen Children's Library as an example to understand the current status of parent-child reading activities in children's libraries,and explore parents' perceptions,attitudes and related situations of parent-child reading in public libraries.According to the relevant survey results,this paper summarizes the experience of parent-child reading activities in children's library,analyzes the specific problems existing in their activities,and then puts forward corresponding solutions.In order to achieve the research purpose,the author first learn the current situation of parent-child reading activities in Xiamen Children's Library by means of content analysis;secondly,through literature research,writing questionnaires,and establishing the reliability and validity of the research tools by the validity and reliability tests.A questionnaire survey is conducted to investigate the parents' and children's satisfaction with the children's library parent-child reading service activities,and the statistical analysis of the valid questionnaires is collected.Finally,the interview outline is drawn up,and in-depth interviews are conducted with librarians who participate in the parent-child reading activities of children's library through the interview method to help explain the survey results.At the same time,a simple cause analysis of the existing deficiencies in the parent-child reading work of the children's library is also conducted.Based on the experience of foreign advanced parent-child reading services,some new measures to promote parent-child reading are discussed.
