Reading is a necessary skill for children in the process of learning and growth, and it is the main way for students to acquire knowledge.Primary school is the key stage of children's reading skills development, and many factors will affect the development process of primary school students' reading skills.Previous studies have shown that attention quality, such as attention span and attention shift, can affect the reading process. With the popularity of mobile electronic media, children are more and more exposed to smart phones, tablets and other electronic products. Some studies have found that electronic media contact has a negative impact on personal language development, but some studies have found that electronic media contact can promote the development of children's cognitive ability.Previous studies have shown that the use of smart phones and other electronic products will have negative effects on children in attention development, such as inattention. Therefore, this study focuses on whether the use of smart phone based electronic products affects children's reading ability by affecting children's attention quality and the relationship between attention quality and children's reading fluency. In this study,691 primary school students of grade one, three and five were selected as the research objects. The development of attention quality of primary school students was evaluated by using the adolescent attention quality test. The self-made questionnaire on the use of electronic devices was used to investigate children's use of smart phones and other electronic products. As the literacy of first-year students is generally small, there are great differences among individuals, and the concept of time is not clear enough,464 third and fifth grade students were selected as subjects to evaluate their reading fluency by using the method of three minutes fast reading, and to explore the relationship between the contact degree of mobile electronic media, attention quality and reading fluency. The collected data were analyzed by spss25.0.The results indicate that:(1)in the four dimensions of attention quality, grade three students are higher than grade one,and grade five students are higher than grade three;(2)The regression results show that all dimensions of attention quality can positively predict pupils' reading fluency;(3)In addition to attention span, although it did not reach a significant level, the students with medium frequency exposure to mobile electronic media scored the highest in the three dimensions of attention;(4)The results of mediating analysis show that attention span and attention allocation play a complete mediating role in the influence of mobile electronic media exposure on primary school students' reading fluency. Therefore, the main conclusions of this study are:(1)the four dimensions of attention have a positive predictive effect on reading fluency;(2)The children's attention span score is the highest in the high frequency mobile electronic media contact group, and the middle frequency contact group scores higher in the attention allocation than the low frequency contact group;(3)The contact degree of mobile electronic media affects children's reading fluency through attention span or attention distribution.According to the results of this study, the Enlightenment of education and teaching is that the moderate use of mobile electronic media is beneficial to the development of attention quality in attention span and attention distribution ability, and this gain can further promote the reading fluency level of primary school students.
