Research On Primary And Secondary School Students' Services In County-level Libraries In Guizhou Province

The implementation of the relevant policies of the outline of the national 13 th five year plan for cultural development and reform and the opinions on accelerating the construction of modern public cultural service system further defines the functions of County-level Libraries in the public cultural service system and public library service system.At the present stage,there is a big gap between the reader service of primary and secondary school students in China and that of developed countries.The construction of primary and secondary school libraries for the majority of primary and secondary school readers in China has just started.County level libraries should undertake the social education function to help cultivate the good reading habits and library utilization habits of primary and secondary school students,In reading activities,we should cultivate primary and secondary school students’ reading interest and reading ability.This paper selects some county-level libraries in Guizhou Province as the research object to carry out the investigation and research.First of all,using the questionnaire survey method to investigate the basic reading situation of primary and secondary school students in Guizhou Province,the utilization of county libraries,reading needs and so on.Secondly,through the field survey method to collect the relevant data of primary and secondary school students’ service in Guizhou county-level library,this paper explores the reading needs of primary and secondary school students in Guizhou county-level library,the utilization of the library,the problems existing in the service of primary and secondary school students in Guizhou County-level Library and the causes of the problems.Finally,on the basis of Thomas’ five factors theory,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the effectiveness of the service for primary and secondary school students in County Libraries of Guizhou Province.This paper enriches the theory of public library service system in theory,promotes the development of County-level Libraries in Guizhou Province in practice,promotes the improvement of the comprehensive quality of primary and secondary school students in Guizhou Province,and provides effective theoretical guidance for the service of primary and secondary school students in County-level Libraries in western underdeveloped areas.Through the research,we found that there are the following problems in the service of primary and secondary school students in County-level Libraries of Guizhou Province: the relevant policy support is not enough,the collection structure of primary and secondary school students is unreasonable,the service space is too narrow and the layout is unreasonable,the number of Librarians is insufficient,the professional quality needs to be improved,the service lacks scientific planning and innovation,and the cooperation with relevant social forces needs to be strengthened.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: the government should improve the relevant policy support,optimize the collection construction for primary and secondary school students,optimize the service space with the combination of virtual and real,improve the personnel structure and quality,strengthen service planning and service innovation,and unite social forces to develop extended services.The innovation of this study lies in the innovation of data and ideas.First,data innovation.The research materials come from the field research of the researchers,the questionnaire survey of primary and secondary school students in four cities and counties of Guizhou Province and the interview with librarians in eight county-level libraries,which provide new data for the service of primary and secondary school students in County-level Libraries of Guizhou Province.Secondly,innovation of ideas.This paper puts forward the development path of primary and secondary school students service in Guizhou county-level library,and provides effective guidance for primary and secondary school students service in Guizhou county-level library.
