Framework Analysis Of COVID-19 Coverage In CCTV NEWS

At the beginning of 2020,As the COVID-19 Epidemic spread across the country,the public's demand for news and information related to the Epidemic increased dramatically.To face profound changes in the public opinion environment,media pattern and communication mode of the times,as the most widely covered and highest rated TV news program in China,CCTV NEWS has become a vital daily source of authoritative information and progress on the Epidemic.This academic dissertation takes the COVID-19 Epidemic Report of CCTV NEWS from January 20,2020 to May 20,2020 as the study sample.We take the Marxist View of News as the guidance and also use the Framework Theory proposed by Zang Guoren.Using Text Analysis and other methods to conduct the study.After sorting out and explaining the Study Background and Significance,Study Literature and Study Design of this academic dissertation,we analyze the COVID-19 Epidemic Report of CCTV NEWS from three levels:high,medium and low.In the high-level Structural Analysis,the themes are discussed from the macro level,constructs and classifies the Theme Catelogue,and introduces the overall situation of the Subject Categories.On this basis,we point out that the Theme Catalogue have the following three outstanding characteristics:First,The Theme Selection:Highlighting the core issues;Second,The Theme Content:Show the anti-epidemic achievements;Third,The Theme Arrangement:Strengthen public opinion guidance.In the medium-level Structural Analysis,the selection of genre,the overall narrative structure and function,and the setting of news background of the program are deeply analyzed.From the perspective of genre,News outlines the overall picture of the epidemic,Communication Coverage sportrait of Epidemic resistance typical characters,and Comments focus on the hot issues.The three genres cover the whole country's fight against the Epidemic from all angles.On the whole,the Structural Schema is complete,the Situational Framework is the main frame,but the Thematic Framework also occupies a certain proportion.Partly,the use of story-oriented techniques to highlight the situation and consequences,deepen the value of news;The Issue Framework occupies a prominent position and highlights the position of the news.In the low-level Structure Analysis,the Language Symbols and Reporting Methods of the program are analyzed from the micro level.From the point of view of Language Symbols,it has the following obvious characteristics:First,it uses precise Numbers to express the position indirectly;Second,Brightly colored words indicate feelings and attitudes.Third,The Title uses colons and special information to strengthen the dissemination effect;Fourth,Colloquial Language enhances affinity.In addition,Camera Language and Actual Sound are also used to enrich news content and indirectly express media opinions.On the basis of the above study,three Frameworks of the COVID-19 epidemic reports by the CCTV NEWS are summarized:Formal Framework--Which reflects its political orientation;Emotional Framework--To build strong confidence in defeating the epidemic;Image Framework--To show the image of China as a responsible major country.Then,the enlightenment of the news broadcast about COVID-19 epidemic situation is expounded from three aspects.Positive publicity guides public opinion;Humanistic care keeps the people's heart stable.Tell Chinese stories well in International Communication.In short,in the face of such an emergency major public health event,CCTV NEWS carried out a full-field and all-around coverage of the report,which had a positive impact on the guidance of Public Opinion and provided strong support for the fight against COVID-19.
