With the advent of the digital society,digital reading has become an important way for children to read that cannot be ignored.As the main non-profit services of children's reading,the public libraries play an important role in guiding children's digital reading.British public libraries have always been attracted in the promotion of children's reading,hence in the aspect of the promotion of children's digital reading,they have many useful experiences and practices for us to explore and use.Based on the deep research about the promotion of children's digital reading between China and Britain,we can understand the level of development abroad,learn advanced experience,propose recommendations,provide help for the scientific development of children's digital reading promotion in China.This thesis uses the method of literature research,network investigation and comparative analysis.The author collects the research literature related to children's digital reading as completely as possible.Secondly,the author uses the method of network investigation to investigate three aspects:the influencing factors of the promotion of children's digital reading,the children's digital reading promotion activities,and the development of children's resources in Chinese and British public libraries.Subsequently,on the basis of research,the author compared the detailed comparison items included in three aspects: laws and regulations,guidelines and policies,related organizations,sources of funds,activity types,activity participants,characteristic cases,digital resource,etc.The author reaches several conclusions.The British influence factors have effectively promoted the development of children's digital reading promotion;The promotion activities of children's digital reading in British public libraries have various types,high frequency,and the children aged 0-18 can participate in the suitable activities.Meanwhile,the collections of children's digital recourse in British public libraries are abundant in quantity and various in quality.Finally,aiming at the shortcomings,combined with the successful experience of the British public libraries,the thesis puts forward three enlightenments:build a protection mechanism with Chinese characteristics;strengthen connotation construction and continuously improve the level of reading promotion;attach importance to the development of digital resource.
