Children's services are an important area of library services.Generally,reading services are the core,and flexible and diverse service channels and methods are used.As a public cultural institution of the country,public libraries take on the important role of assisting schools to serve children.The physical and mental development of young children is not yet complete,and they are still in a gradually growing life stage.Children have different characteristics at different ages.Children 's services in public libraries should be combined with children 's developmental psychology and physical growth laws to provide personalized and differentiated services to comprehensively promote children 's development.The American Public Library has hundreds of years of service to children.Under the guidance of historical precipitation and practice,it has also formulated rich and detailed laws and regulations.Librarians have academic qualifications and qualification certificates as the threshold to enter the library.Therefore,this article selects the children's services of American libraries as the comparison object,and compares the similarities and differences of children's services between Chinese and American public libraries based on the psychological development perspective of the children's development concept,in order to provide constructive development suggestions for children's services in Chinese libraries.There are many public libraries in China and the United States that provide children's services.When determining the comparison objects,the author selected the top-ranked and successively rated first-level libraries according to the ranking of the two countries' libraries for research.Object.In the selection of research methods,this article mainly adopts the network survey method and text analysis method;on the basis of full comparison and experience combing,it is proposed that China should adopt a tiered service strategy,socialized activity strategy,and personalized development service strategy to strengthen public libraries Children's service construction.
