When public health emergencies occur,the agenda setting of the new mainstream media is essential to guide online public opinion and alleviate negative emotions.This study uses Gooseeker software,taking COVID-19,the most serious public health emergency in the social media era,as an example,and using the theory of the third-level agenda setting to analyze the characteristics and effects of "People's Daily" Weibo agenda setting.Find problems from it and make suggestions.The People's Daily Weibo proactively set the agenda through a variety of forms.Its agenda is constructive and strives to dig out the positive significance of events.Popular science issues occupy an important position in the agenda network,while sensitive issues are at the edge of the network.In terms of the effect of agenda setting,there is no significant correlation between the media and the public's agenda network.The public agenda pays more attention to sensitive issues and shows a negative trend.In addition,the agenda setting has problems such as lack of verify on issues,lagging in setting of sensitive issues,and weak relevance of agenda elements.It also faces bottlenecks such as difficulty in entering the public view,difficulty in universal recognition of values,and not easy to focus on issues.In this regard,the following suggestions are made,strengthening content control,proactively setting sensitive topics,building connections between various elements,focusing on deep media integration,leveraging big data technology,and strengthening emotional settings,in order to improve the new mainstream media's ability to set the agenda in response to public health emergencies.
