The Guiding Role Of The Mainstream Public Opinion Field In Public Emergencies

China is in social transition.there are lots of social contradictions in our life, natural disasters happen frequently. The international situation is complicated, almost all kinds of public emergencies happen every day. Such as Kunming railway knife attack, Zhoushan mud-rock flow and the lost of MH370.Sudden public events are harm to public life. Because of the particularity of public emergency and the particularity of the present communication environment,the mainstream media public opinion field guidance is faced with a lot of challenges.In this article,the definition of public emergency and mainstream media public opinion field has been explored.and the social mission what the mainstream media in guiding public opinion field should bear is discussed. This paper argues that the mainstream media in the field of public opinion in public emergency should warn society early and guide public opinion, mobilize social forces and so on. Take Harbin fire and the lost of MH370 for example, this paper summarizes the complexity of the public emergency and the difficulties that China’s mainstream media public opinion field faced.
