A Study On The Transformation And Upgrading Path Of China's Mobile Phone Component Export Enterprises

With the development of economic globalization,the division of labor in industrial activities has been further developed,and it is gradually inclined to split vertically within the scope of activities around the world.All links of product production can be divided across national borders for division of labor.These links have the characteristics of discretization and fragmentation,and can form a global value chain.In each link of the global value chain,various companies present a distributed cooperation pattern to participate in the global value chain and engage in various value-added activities.More and more enterprises in China are participating in the global value chain,but because the development of the Chinese economy is characterized by low cost of production factors and abundant labor,most of the links embedded in the global value chain are links such as processing and assembly,and the added value of these links is not High and limited technical content,so most Chinese companies are in the low-end position in the global value chain,while companies in developed countries have been occupying high value-added links such as design,research and development and marketing.Under such circumstances,Chinese mobile phone component export enterprises are facing huge challenges,how to transform and upgrade to resolve the low-end locking dilemma in the global value chain,meet the opportunities and challenges of the development of emerging markets and emerging industries,and improve the company 's international competitive advantage of the market is a problem that Chinese mobile phone component export companies urgently need to solve.Based on the perspective of the global value chain,this thesis uses a comparative analysis method and a case analysis method to analyze the transformation and upgrading path of Chinese mobile phone component export enterprises.First,this thesis analyzes the current status of Chinese mobile phone component exporters,analyzes the development status of Chinese mobile phone component exporters,and analyzes the current status of Chinese mobile phone component exporters' participation in global value chains.Second,this thesis conducts Chinese mobile phone component exporters' path of transformation,expounding the reasons for the transformation and upgrading of Chinese mobile phone component exporting enterprises and the types of transformation and upgrading paths,reflecting the urgency of the transformation and upgrading of Chinese mobile phone component exporting enterprises;Again,this thesis selects BOE as the object of a case study,the company analyzes the two successful cases of transformation and upgrading andcompares the similarities and differences between the two transformation and upgrading paths.Finally,combined with the previous summary,it proposes four-point transformation and upgrading recommendations for other mobile phone component export companies.The research conclusions of this thesis are as follows: First,if enterprises want to finish transformation and upgrading,they can follow path which includes the global value chain embedded in the modular governance model,climbing along the value chain,and upgrading across the value chain.Second,enterprises should choose a transformation and upgrade path that is suitable for the development of the enterprise according to their position in the global value chain and their own ability level.Third,it is not enough for enterprises to have transformation and upgrade only to have technology.It is the key to have their own innovation ecosystem.The innovations of this thesis include the following: First,in the context of the global value chain,the transformation and upgrading of the industry has attracted the attention and exploration of many scholars,but there are few studies focusing on the transformation and upgrading of specific enterprises.The transformation and upgrading of Chinese mobile phone parts export enterprises provides practical significance for the transformation and upgrading of other enterprises.Second,most of the existing research on the transformation and upgrading of enterprises under the global value chain has not yet involved the mobile phone parts export company,but the internationalization of mobile phone parts export companies is becoming more and more common.This thesis discusses research on the transformation and upgrading path of mobile phone parts export enterprises,with a view to providing theoretical guidance for more and more mobile phone parts export enterprises in China to survive and stand on the global market.
