A Study On The Construction Of Urban Image In Domestic Urban Drama Since The New Century

Times and life provide a unique source of subject matter for urban drama,and at the same time,urban drama,as a cultural art,is a reflection of urban development and psychological changes in society.The thesis combines urban drama and urban image,and examines the constructs of urban image and the socio-cultural implications behind it in domestic urban drama since the new century.According to the theory of spatial production by Lev Levol,the image of the city in urban drama can be summarized as the image of the city as material space,the image of the city as social space and the image of the city as spiritual space.Through the presentation of different material landscapes,the urban images in the urban drama are mostly reflected in the material space level as the image of a modern metropolis with fashion and prosperity and a local city with regional characteristics.At the sociospatial level,the urban image in the urban drama is presented differently in the perspective of different social classes.The metropolis in the urban elite's domain is mainly an open and free commercial capital,while the metropolis in the civilian's domain is a more smoky city;in the mental space,the image of the city in the domain of outsiders and local citizens also has different connotations;the city in the outsiders' domain is a desired place to live and an ideal,while the city in the local citizens' domain is more stress and anxiety.The image of the city in the new century urban drama is constructed from the dimensions of natural environment,urban architecture,culture and art,and civic life,in which the urban landscape and elite people,which represent the modern material power,are often more densely represented and given symbolic power.In terms of audio-visual language,the urban drama not only uses camera scheduling to show the visual landscape of the city,but also cleverly uses lines,music and other auditory elements to spread the city's elegance;in terms of narrative strategy,the urban drama not only presents life through everyday narrative,but also tries to use video rhetoric to construct urban imagery with aesthetic implications.The urban drama is a mirror reflection of the contemporary urban reality,showing the complex social conflicts and individual confusion in China's urban society,highlighting the social reality of deepening social stratification,the crisis of consumerism and the ethical dilemma of convergence in urban space,and the value reconfiguration and spiritual confusion of urban people under urban change.There are still problems with the urban image construction of urban dramas,such as the single way of shaping,the landscape of urban images,and the weak presentation of urban spiritual culture,etc.We should increase the combination of innovative urban dramas and urban elements,maintain the balance of personalized city and diversified dissemination,and integrate urban spiritual culture into the plot and characters.
