The Research Of Software Program Resource Management In Company E

This thesis analyzed the program resource management issue in software company just like resource conflict,project categorization,communication channel unclear etc.Target to establish a total solution regarding software program resource management.By setting up the new PMO organization to fulfill resource requirement and to achieve enterprise strategy.The fact of the issue was the conflict between resource requirement and enterprise resource plan.There was a volatility when the project running from startup to planning and execution.Normally enterprise would plan the resource by the average of project requirement.That made the resource conflict a common issue especially in software company.That was because most of the software company resource were human resource.To solve this issue,thesis set up an integrated resource solution covered re-organization,resource planning and project categorization.First step was the introduction of program management instead of project management and build a PMO in organization.Second was to plan the program resource status and to analyze the new coming project requirement.The last step was to distribute the resource by assessing the project priority.By carried forward a total program resource solution,E company optimized the resource issue and achieved the strategy target at the same time.They set up the program by putting the similar projects together.That made the team member can support each other when one project trapped into resource issue.Based on this method,this solution not only mitigated the resource issue but also ensured the team flexibility.By using program resource pool and projects prioritization system,program managers in E company make sure the maximum usage of program resource.At the same time they can shift the resource from one project to another very quickly to adjust the projects delivery progress targeting company strategy.
