Resource Management System of Beijing Telecom (RMSBT) is a large software project contracted with our company. The author is the Project manager and in charge of this project. It is significant for the newly founded Beijing Telecom after the splitting of the China Telecom between northern and southern. It is also the primary project and important construction content of OSS system of Beijing Telecom. The smooth execution of this project will provide solid foundation for forming advanced BOSS operation platform in short time and operation guarantee to occupy the market of Telecommunication in Beijing.The thesis is on the background of the project of RMSBT, combined with the theories of project management, elaborating the applications of project management in software project from the following aspects: defining the project, fixing the scale, managing the organization form, making risk plan and controlling the process, etc.The thesis extracts and concludes the key factors of the successful implementation from the real project management, which includes a strong organization management and leadership of high level management of customs, the dedicated spirit and good communication ability of the sales experts, skilled tech support, a team full of passion and enthusiasm, a practical project target, explicit and strict requirement management and appropriate testing.
