Abstract/Summary:
With the increasing effort toward manufacturing automation and enterprise integration, the need arises for powerful constraints handling mechanisms and consistent data models transformation. That is due to the heterogeneous nature of the manufacturing enterprises.;An Object Oriented Architecture, providing, environment entities managing capabilities with consistent, reliable communication and data model transformations in manufacturing environments, is proposed in this thesis. The architecture will support a heterogeneous environment that covers a wide array of components, from workshop/assembly line activities to management and business oriented processes. An Example will be given from a project that was developed at The Automation and Robotics Research Institute (ARRI).
