Geometry,as an important part of junior middle school mathematics curriculum,plays a significant role in training students' thinking.Good geometry thinking helps students form a scientific world outlook and better understand the real space.Based on literature research,questionnaire survey and interview,this paper studies the current situation of geometric thinking level of junior middle school students in Qingdao area,and gets the following conclusions.1.The average score of students' questionnaires is just over the passing line.It can be seen that students' geometric thinking level is not high.59% of students are at three level,20% of students are at level two and four,while few students are at five level.2.There is no significant difference in students' geometric thinking level in terms of gender.But there is a clear gap between urban and rural students' geometric thinking level,and urban students' geometric thinking level is higher than that of township school students.3.There is a significant positive correlation between the students' geometric thinking level and the students' math performance.Generally speaking,students have a high level of geometric thinking,then his math results are aiso good.The study found that the influence factors of geometric thinking training of junior high school students mainly have the following six points: paying too much attention to knowledge teaching and lacking of the cultivation of students' geometry;Insufficient training of students' ability to measure geometric;Neglect guiding students to choose appropriate methods to solve problems;teachers can not use computer aided instruction flexibly;the level of urban and rural teachers' professional education existence difference;teachers' professional knowledge and ability are lacking.Based on the above factors,the suggestions are put forward to cultivate the geometric thinking of junior high school students:to strengthen the penetration of geometric intuition in teaching;to pay attention to the combination of geometry teaching and life situation;to cultivate the flexibility of students' geometric thinking;to coordinate various factors to make urban and rural education equal;teachers should strengthen their own geometric accomplishment;pay attention to the stratified teaching of students.Students should be stratified teaching,and to guide students to actively participate in the classroom teaching.
