Geometry courses occupy a very important position in mathematics teaching of middle schools and play an irreplaceable role on cultivation and development of mathematical thinking.It is beneficial for improving thinking of students and developing their logical thinking ability.However,how to improve their logical ability and improve effectiveness of geometrical teaching is still the key issue to be concerned in the educational field.As a result,the status of geometrical study of students and level of junior students' geometrical thinking after course reform is deserved to be investigated and studied.In the study of students' geometrical thinking and geometrical teaching,the geometrical learning theory due to the couple of Van Hiele is one of the most influential theories.Based on geometrical thinking division theory of Van Hiele,and geometrical learning theory,the author uses the comparative analysis and questionnaire survey to test students' geometrical thinking level and features,so as to help students to study geometrical knowledge well and develop their mathematical thinking level.Respondents for the questionnaire survey in this thesis are 256 junior students from two urban middle schools in a city,including 128 boys and 128 girls.By analyzing the obtained data,we derive the following three conclusion:(1)30.1% of the students remain at level 1,24.6% of the total number of students at level 2,38.3% of the students reach level 3,and 7% of the students reach level 4;(2)Boys and girls have no significant difference in geometrical thinking level;(3)Two urban middle schools have no significant difference;(4)Classes with different levels have the significant difference.In conclusion,according to test results and questionnaire investigation on students,the author proposes some suggestions on teachers and students,beneficial to help students' geometrical study and teaching.
