Interaction And Confrontation: A Study Of Discourse Construction In Sudden Environmental Events

Frequent environmental incidents in China in recent years.This study takes the Quangang Carbon Nine Leakage accident as an example,it adopts text analysis and content analysis,draws on relevant theories of critical discourse analysis,and studies the government,the public,and the media in environmental emergencies according to the ideas from discourse expression to discourse practice Discourse construction and the discourse relation of interaction and confrontation between them,it analyzes the discourse practice representation,formation process and reason of the relationship between interaction and confrontation discourse,and its impact on reality,and finally thinks about how to promote the benign interaction of multi-subject discourse.The study found that the top-down discourse construction carried out by the government under the leadership of power has the characteristics of patterned discourse.The public's discourse construction under the environmental risk framework,responsibility attribution framework and problem solving framework is characterized by emotion and language violence,and the discourse is more antagonistic.As a communicator,the media is influenced by government and public discourse to construct different discourses.The local media discourse is based on trusting the government framework.The media from different places use multiple frameworks to express discourse from the public standpoint,making them more flexible and active.In the Quangang Carbon Nine Leakage Accident,each subject's discourse practiced discourse in the relationship between interaction and confrontation.There is good interaction between public discourse and media discourse in both places.Both discourses form a confrontational relationship with government discourse,of which public discourse is more resistant.The local media,as a speaker of governmentdiscourse,lack interaction with the public discourse.At different stages of accident development,the discourse relationship between interaction and confrontation has gone through the process of formation,strengthening,and fixation to dissipation,and the strength of the discourse grows and declines among them.The background of the contradiction and the complexity of accidents during the transition period,the discourse empowerment of the Internet,and the complex relationship between the subjects are the practical reasons for the formation of the relationship between discourse interaction and confrontation.In the interaction and confrontation,the subject identity of the discourse was reinterpreted and constructed,which triggered a rethinking of social trust.In the discourse relationship of interaction and confrontation,the issue of environmental risks in emergencies is blurred,and there are some problems in the discourse construction of the government,the media,and the public.Finally,constructing a discourse space for benign interaction between multiple subjects is conducive to the collaborative governance of environmental emergencies.This requires the emergence of a public discourse platform for each subject's own optimization and rational negotiation.
