The Construction Of Conflict Discourse In The Transmission Of Environmental Events

The occurrence of environmental events has complex social causes and effects.Public,media,government,environmental organizations and other involved which represent different interests of the demands,will inevitably form a complex environmental discourse."Changzhou poisonous land Event" is full of differences between the views of the parents and the government.The environmental debate of different subjects around them,to a great extent,has become a discourse competition.Discourse diversification,conflict,and confrontation have become its most prominent features.As a typical microcosm of the current soil pollution problem in China,the "Changzhou poisonous land Event" exposes the seriousness of the problems of China's early economic development.The shortage of soil pollution prevention and control legislation,and the lack of channels for public opinion,these factors make "Changzhou poisonous land Event" has become an important topic,the media launched a wealth of practical discourse on these issues.This paper chooses "Changzhou poisonous event" as the research object,and the construction of media conflict discourse as the starting point.We comprehensively combed the process of conflict discourses' production.Text analysis,discourse analysis and other research methods are used not only to analyze the way how media construct conflict discourses,to summarize the content of the characteristics of these conflicting discourse,but also to analyze the different strategies used by the media to construct conflict discourses,including emotional strategies,risk strategies and rhetorical strategies.Through the case study of "Changzhou Poisonous land Event",we can find that,different from the original conflict in the real world,conflicts built by the media are more dramatic and conflicting,which reflects the process of game,communication and negotiation between different discourses in some sense.The study argues that the conflicting discourse constructed by the mass media is a strategy for the practice of news discourse.The purpose is to eliminate the contradictions and conflicts in the real world,to promote the settlement of practical problems.In this process,mass media played an important role in building the communication channel and activating government response.But,there are also problems about violation of news authenticity and accuracy.Media reports are also facing difficulties in rational guidance.How to break the inherent reporting model restrictions about environmental issues,to fully realize the social mobilization function,to construct a platform for rational communication,has become the problem we need to think deeply.
