At present,China vigorously promotes "reading for all" and actively builds a learning society,so carrying out reading promotion activities has become one of the responsibilities of the library.The university age is a critical period for the cultivation of personal reading literacy.On the one hand,the university library is not only the main provider of reading resources,but also the guide of reading.Therefore,how to carry out reading promotion activities in university library has become an urgent problem to be solved.However,the university library is facing the special group of college students,who grow up with the development of the Internet and like the content with rich types and various forms of expression.Traditional reading promotion activities,such as radio and paper flyers,can not arouse the interest of college students,which leads to the failure of reading promotion activities in the group of college students.Since the birth of new media,because of its equality,mass,interaction and other advantages,it is loved by college students.Therefore,how to apply new media in the reading promotion of university library to improve the mismatch between the rich collection resources and the utilization rate of students,and make college students pay attention to reading,start reading and love reading has become an important problem in the new media era.This paper can be divided into six parts,the first and second parts are the introduction and related concepts and theoretical basis,mainly introduces the source of this topic,research status,research methods and innovation of this paper,and introduces some concepts involved in this paper,such as the concept,characteristics and theoretical basis of new media,such as "5W" model,“use and satisfaction” theory Exhibition status quo.The third chapter analyzes the current application of new media in the library of Changchun University of technology,including the use of the library home page,the application of Wechat public platform,the application of QQ group and mobile reader.The fourth chapter is mainly about the statistics and analysis of the feedback results of Changchun University of technology students' questionnaire,and on this basis,it concludes the shortcomings and shortcomings of the current new media in the process of reading promotion of Changchun University of technology,which mainly includes four aspects: weak connectivity of reading promotion,single form of promotion in content,weak pertinence of promotion content and lack of interaction in reading promotion.The fifth chapter is through theanalysis of the above chapters,to provide four feasible suggestions for the new media how to play a better role in the reading promotion of university library.The last chapter is the summary.Generally speaking,new media is loved by college students because of its advantages over traditional media and its strong development momentum.However,how to combine the advantages of new media in an orderly way to make it play a greater potential and attraction in the process of reading promotion in university library is a problem we should pay attention to and solve under the background of "reading for all".
