Maker education,characterized by creation and practice,can promote the reform and development of talent cultivation,especially in promoting the cultivation of innovative talents in colleges and universities.In fact,colleges and universities are attaching more and more importance to the in-depth implementation of maker education,especially the practice of maker education in double first-class universities,which has shown a good development trend.As the leader of higher education in the western region,the double first-class universities have also carried out a series of reforms and explorations in maker education,but they also face many challenges and problems.Based on the reform trend of maker education at home and abroad,this paper attempts to pay attention to and discuss the implementation status of maker education in double first-class universities in western China,so as to improve the quality and efficiency of maker education of colleges and universities in western China.The implementation status of maker education can be discussed from the perspectives of organization,operation and guarantee,which are not only based on the logical framework of the implementation of maker education,but also the summary of the research status of maker education at home and abroad.This paper takes six double first-class universities in the western region that have carried out maker education as the research object,and analyzes and discusses from the perspectives of institutional construction,management and operation at the organizational level,curriculum setting,competitions,activities and faculty construction at the operational level,as well as the government,society and universities at the security level.The results show that maker education in six universities in western China has established an organizational system at the organizational level,but there is no perfect management and operation mechanism within the organization.In terms of practice,six universities in the western region have gradually incorporated maker education into the school education system,and professional education has been gradually combined with competition activities.However,universities do not pay enough attention to maker education,and the maker curriculum system is not perfect,and the competition and activity mechanism is not organized.On the security level,maker education is gradually realizing the integration of government,industry,education and research under the protection of the government,society and universities.However,the government,society and universities have not formed the macro environment for the implementation of maker education,and lack of guidance of policies and systems.To solve these problems,this study suggests university should establish a system of organization and management on the organizational level and operational mechanism.The society should strengthen attention to maker education,improve the course system,formulate competition and activity mechanisms on the operating level.On the safeguard level,the government should formulate macro-policies for maker education,the school and society form the mechanism of educating people,and the university formulates the development plan for maker education to promote the development of maker education.Only by coordinating the various elements of maker education to form a synergistic effect,can the effective operation of maker education be guaranteed.
