The purpose of this study was to investigate the generation of cognitive dissonance in inverted news and the way in which audiences reduce cognitive dissonance.Combining the theory of audience cognition and cognitive dissonance in the reversal news,this study uses Luo Yixiao as a case to explore the factors affecting cognitive dissonance and ways to reduce cognitive dissonance through questionnaires,interviews and content analysis.The study found that in the reversal of news,the audience mainly has three sets of cognitive elements:(1)the pre-reverse audience's expectation of the news party's cognitive elements and the reversal of the audience's actual behavioral cognitive elements;2)After the audience judges the original information,it supports the imbalance between the cognitive elements of the original information judgment and the cognitive elements that do not support the original information judgment.(3)The audience's expectation of the information environment and the audience are opposite.Turning to the imbalance between the cognitive elements of the news information environment.These three groups of cognitive elements interact with each other,and ultimately affect the audience's cognitive elemental imbalance in the information environment.The self-concept of the audience has a certain meaning in the dissonance after the original information judgment.In terms of factors affecting cognitive dissonance,audience attribution,audience involvement and gender role characteristics of the audience have a certain impact on the audience's cognitive dissonance.In addition to reducing cognitive disability,increasing cognitive dissonance can effectively reduce cognitive dissonance.In addition,studies have found that reducing the importance of cognitive elements,such as reducing responsibility,can also reduce the cognitive dissonance of the audience.The study pointed out that in some cases,the audience should recognize the inevitability and necessity of the disorder,do not evade their sense of responsibility,and actively improve their media literacy.
