Application Of Agile Project Management In X-Lib Wechat Update Project

The rapid development of mobile technology is driving innovation in library services.Whether it is a public library or a university library,it closely follows the footsteps of users and has gradually constructed a WeChat public platform to provide new ports for resources and services.X University Library has started to provide WeChat platform services in 2014.However,with the passage of time and development of H5 technology,it has been unable to meet the growing needs of users and is in urgent need of the secondary development.This paper is based on the agile project management delivery architecture process,using the agile project management methods such as Scrum as well as implementing the X-Lib public WeChat platform revision and upgrade project.Overall,the process is divided into five major stages,including “conception,speculation,exploration,adaptation,evaluation”.In the conception stage,the author obtained the support from the library leader and formed a team,learning the agile project management theory and method together.In the speculation stage,the menu settings and demand function list of the X-Lib WeChat platform were finally established after visiting and investigating the construction of the WeChat platform of some public libraries and university libraries,as well as collecting the needs of the users in the library and readers outside the library.In the exploration and adaptation stage,the author completed the WeChat platform revision project through 4 iterations step by step,and then released new platforms and collected user feedback to continuously improve the WeChat platform.In the evaluation stage,the author studied and designed the user satisfaction evaluation form with reference to the prior researchers,and sent survey questionnaires to the users concerned with WeChat.Finally,SPSS 21.0 statistical analysis software was used to preprocess the data of the 600 valid questionnaires.The validity of the data was tested by principal component analysis and the user satisfaction score was calculated.The main research results of this paper are as follows: First,the process of the X-Lib WeChat platform project revision based on agile project management delivery architecture process is described,and the satisfaction degree of the revised WeChat platform is evaluated.Second,some of the management elements in the implementation process of the X-Lib WeChat platform project are analyzed.Third,user participation and multipleiterations of “small steps” are keys to the success of the project,which could best embody the advantages of agile project management.Finally,according to the results of satisfaction evaluation,suggestions for improving the X-Lib WeChat new platform and the significance of implementing agile project management in the library are proposed.
