In recent years,under the favorable situation that the national government vigorously promotes original content,and video industry is in the transition stage and the proportion of young Internet users increases,network variety shows have ushered in the golden stage of development.Because these shows are broadcast on the Internet,both form and content are highly matched with the cultural psychology of the young generation.In this context,a number of youth subculture programs successfully broken through the “circle” and spread rapidly under the influence of “consumerism”.In the face of various types of youth subculture programs,if a certain type of youth subculture programs want to “break through” in the context of new media,it is the key to solve how to carry out cultural production and consumption.At the beginning of 2018,Street Dance of China,produced by Youku Video and Star China was officially broadcast on Youku video.Based on the broadcast situation of the program,Street Dance of China is the first program of the series program “This is” successfully launched by Youku Video.Then the program Street Dance of China has become a model of youth subculture programs in the field of new media.Therefore,based on the case study and the program text presentation,the cultural production and consumption characteristics of Street Dance of China are summarized under the theoretic framework of youth subculture in School of Birmingham,which can not only reveal the “secret” of program in the youth subculture production and consumption but also provide theoretical and practical experience for other relevant types of youth subculture programs.This study finds that in the Internet new media platform,the symbolization of youth subculture in constructing its own unique style is more remarkable.When showing its own entertainment against natural attributes,it presents a “milder resistance”,and restricted by the double rules of market consumption and powerful dominant culture,it also shows a more rational operation mechanism,that is,“anti-incorporation” is more “moderate and rational”.In addition,the network variety show Street Dance of China presents its own subcultural style and entertainment in a form of collage,rituals and symbolization,so as to carry out its own cultural production.Moreover,the consumption of Street Dance of China mainly comes from two aspects,that is,the consumption of fans and dancers themselves,while there is a powerful self-identity construction behind the consumption.In a word,through the hot broadcast of Street Dance of China,street dance,a youth sub-culture form,has been recognized again.In the meantime,the presentation of young dancers in the program not only highlighted the street dance core of “peace,respect and love” but also redefined the youth culture.To sum up,it is believed in this paper that under the theoretical framework of youth subculture,the cultural production and consumption carried out in Street Dance of China not only has a positive significance to the creation of multiculture but also plays an outstanding role in leading the value of modern youth.
