Framework Analysis Of The Reports On 19th National Congress Of The CPC

The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing from October 18 to October 24,2017.As a major event of Chinese politics,the convocation of the 19 th National Congress has aroused widespread attention of media,More than 3,000 journalists gathered in Beijing for the interview.This paper takes People's Daily,United Daily News and Liberty times as examples.Using content analysis to analyze the “theme” “sources” “genre” “tendency” of the report.At the same time,discourse analysis was used to analyze the report on political themes,economic themes,cross-strait relations themes and the editorials to reveal the connotations and summarize the reporting framework.The study found that the People's Daily,United Daily News and Liberty Times were very different in their coverage on the 19 th National Congress of the CPC,and presented a completely different image of China.The People's Daily report on the 19 th National Congress of the CPC showed a “macro-guided” propaganda framework,“micro-deep” story framework,“demarcation line” dialog frame and "responsible and progressive" responsibility framework in the fields of politics,economy,cross-strait relations and editorials.Presented a peacefully rising image of China;United Daily News showed a " neutral and objective" balanced framework," smooth progress" friendly framework,"soft and hard" communication framework and "promote peace" reflection framework in the fields of politics,economy,cross-strait relations and editorials.Presented a friendly image of the China;Liberty times showed a "dictatorship " conflict framework,"depressed" problematic framework,"strong and censure" pressured framework and "ironically" confrontational framework.Presented a "threatening" image of the China.The reasons for the differences may be influence of ideology,political position and news concept.
