China and the United States,respectively,as the world's largest developing and developed countries,China-US relations have become the most important bilateral relationship in the world.The meeting between the two heads of state is not only an important issue concerning the diplomacy of the two countries,but also a topic of media coverage between China and the United States.For a long time,the comparative study of media reports in China and the United States has always been the focus of the press study.Regarding the news reports of President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States,the differences between the Chinese and American media have been the focus of this paper.This article takes the news reports of "New York Times" and "People's Daily" and its news client "Mr.Xi Jinping's visit to the United States in 2017" as an example,based on the theory of news framework,relying on the agenda setting theory,Samuel-Wal The husband's hypothesis,combined with quantitative and qualitative research,compares the reports of the two news media on the incident,analyzes the number,length,genre,source,and topic of the report,and explores the media reports of the Chinese and American media.Similarities and differences.Through research,it is found that both the New York and the new media,in the number and length of reports,the New York Times and the People's Daily have paid a high degree of attention to the Chinese leaders' visit to the United States.Secondly,in the news In terms of source selection,the two media have paid great attention to the news from the official countries to create a public opinion environment conducive to the country.Finally,in the selection and expansion of news topics and topics,the two media were affected by the state.The influence of interests,news concepts and the nature of the media,its reports are presented through different strategies and perspectives.Generally speaking,when the news media of China and the United States reported that “Mr.Xi Jinping's visit to the United States in 2017”,there were obvious differences,and the stigma of the Chinese image in the US media always existed.After the author sorted out the business of People's Daily and The New York Times and its clients,the author analyzed and summarized the specific reasons for the differences between the two media.On the one hand,it is caused by the different media nature of the two media,and on the other hand,it is also affected by the relationship between China and the United States.Finally,based on the existing research,this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to make good political news reports for traditional media and news clients in China.The media should improve the reporting methods and reduce the propaganda tone.At the same time,we must pay attention to the role of two-sided propaganda.The news writing department should also strengthen its own in-depth news commentary;the news client should strengthen the originality of the content,reduce the homogenization with the paper media content;optimize the client operation and give A better user experience for the audience.From the above,this article is not only a comprehensive business review of the "People's Daily" and "New York Times" and its news client "Xi Jinping's visit to the United States",but also two major news events from the two sides of the paper media and APP.A comprehensive comparison.By contrast,it can not only provide ideas for the political communication of the Chinese media,but also provide a good way for Chinese newspapers to face paperless survival.
